& CEO of New Hope Girls, a dynamic nonprofit dedicated to rescuing girls and empowering women in the Dominican Republic.

Once a compassionate advocate on the outside peering in, Joy found her true calling after taking a life-changing step of faith into the unknown and witnessing the struggles of young women in the Dominican Republic. With unwavering determination, she founded New Hope Girls, a groundbreaking mission that provides safe homes, educational opportunities, and dignified employment initiatives for women.

Joy began her career as an elementary school teacher and learned how to integrate the power of art and creativity into her curriculum. 

She has since found it to be an integral part of her therapeutic work as well as her own creative process in reflecting, writing and storytelling.
